I didn't really like Economics when I was in secondary school, and other subjects that had different meanings for a particular topic.

Like, why?

Can't we just have one definition and move on to the other topics? But it wasn't so, almost all the earlier economists had their meanings of the subject.

Now, imagine an economist defining philosophy, of course, he would explain it from the viewpoint of an economist.

And so has the world defined many things.

But, as a believer, you have to redefine those many things when you come to God.

The world says we don't need men, is that what the Bible says?

The world says men are scums and women are sex toys, is that how God defined it?

The world is defining marriage in its terms, how did God define it?

The world says you have to do rituals, scam others to get wealth, how did God define it?

The world is not the only one defining things, you are.

You push God aside, His principles, His standards, His word and you define things to suit you. Your emotions, maybe because you were hurt.

You define it to suit the mindset you are unwilling to change, to suit a particular situation, and your own philosophy of life.

One area I see being redefined recently by my course mates and in other schools too is “help”.

When they “help” a friend to mark attendance. Is that really help? It may look like help because you have redefined it to suit you, so you don't feel guilty and condemned.

That is not helping. God defines it as lying. They were not there, they were not there, but, when you mark their presence you lied, twisting the fact.

One popular saying we know is “all liars will go to hell”, but before hell, have you thought that you hurt God? And made him hate your tongue?

A lying tongue is an abomination to God, you don't like what is abominable. It stands as a barrier when you pray.

Many have gone as far as writing tests for their friends? Why? Because they are “helping” them.

There is a man in the Bible, who died “helping”.

He was picking sticks on the Sabbath day. Maybe he was “helping” his wife, maybe he couldn't sit and watch his children die of hunger, so he decided to “help”.

Many of you have no right to condemn our leaders, because you are just like them.

It is like the story of the prodigal son. The younger son was bold enough to meet the father and demand his shares. These are our leaders, they do whatever they like boldly and openly too.

The eldest son did not meet his father openly, but he didn't scold his younger brother when he did what he did.

The property was divided between both of them, he got his shares, he didn't refuse, hiding under the boldness of his brother.

And many are the younger brother. You hide to do what you do. Why do you hide? Because you know it is wrong.

By this single act you lost the right to point fingers at our leaders.

It is also like the parable Jesus gave, when He told us to take the log out of our eyes first before trying to take out the speck from our brothers’.

And this is just the training ground.

You will rise higher and be in a position one day, what is the guarantee that you won't do worse than our leaders, no matter what your position may be?

You could be worse. You just need the right time, place and situation.

Like David, he was an adulterer but it couldn't manifest just until he saw a naked woman- the right position (king), right timing, right situation.

It is just the same way you can't boldly say; “I am not a thief, I will not steal” until you see the huge amount of money staring at you, and different thoughts swim into your head.

You are training yourself for the right day and time, when you may not want to do it, but the devil will remind you of all the other “little” ones you have done.

The “help” you rendered once and the “little” sin you committed will be what he will use to trap you deeper.

There is no “little” sin, a sin is a sin.

Because you do it and survive today does not mean you are smart, or there is nothing against you, it is just God's mercy saying “no” to instant judgement and giving second chances for repentance.

That is His mercy, it doesn't condemn easily, no matter how “big” the sin.

That mercy is still working today, Jesus is still accepting souls and yours can be saved too.

And if your relationship with Him is rocky, you can still meet Him.

Everything with Him is built, it is not automatic. Reach out to believers who can help you grow.

Jesus loves you, He wants you, your heart that obeys and follows Him.
