𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫

I think I'm destined to be a media man, fr!
I never thought of studying journalism or being a journalist in my entire life.

But I've been involving myself in a journalism kind of lifestyle for a while.
My brother, Ahmed Godwin knows better about this gist.

Those years we took radios to the farm,
Working and listening to radios and even mimicking broadcasters.

It was fun, and we loved it then and even now.
We have mimicked different broadcasters and presenters from Nasarawa Broadcasting Service (NBS) Lafia.

Such as Valentine Joshua, Steve Shammah Anze Nasarawafirstson , Paul Gado, Maryam Rabillu, and many of them...
We listened to programs like "Talent Splash", "Lean on Me", and many entertaining and educative programs.

We enjoyed the combined service of NBS Lafia and NBS Keffi
For news and other special programs.

All these were just passion for communication and entertainment.
Aside from listening to radios and TV programs, I've found the job of interviewing and media-related contents interesting.

Finding myself doing media works anywhere I go, even without being asked to do so.
I think my passion is here, and if studied well, I'll become better.

So, to anyone studying any course in school, either willingly or unwillingly,
Try as much as you can to find a niche in that profession and start doing all you can to love what you're studying.

If you're confused about what to do or what you should be doing or how to go during and after your studying,
You can reach out to a Content writer, educational coach, and public speaker Jennifer Ogorchukwu who is dishing out contents that help students know better about their field of studies and beyond.

Last month, I was in her DM with the question "What can I do as a journalist?"
And guess what? I got a complete reply and education that will keep me awake and stand ahead till I graduate school and even after school.

I've saved the post she made about my question "What can I do as a Journalist?" to my archive.
It'll serve as a reminder to me throughout because it's a whole lot of knowledge.

The fact that I'm here, and I'm able to get this vital information at year one,
I can start anywhere and with what is obtainable.
So help me God, AMEN.

Let's keep building,

𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

When I got admitted to school last year December,
I shared the news with a close colleague at work.

I was surprised by his reply,
He was like "Haa! Maxwell, you got admission and you're leaving this work to go and study?

I hope you have saved enough money, o,
because if you call me for any money tomorrow, I'm going to block you!"

He said that jokingly,
and somehow serious in his face.

I nodded my head and said wow,
I laughed and moved.

Now, come to think of this,
this is just something I picked a strong message from what he called a joke.

Remembering this word that says "school na scam",
people really take that word as the way it's said.

But hun, this guy wasn't the only person saying this to me,
there are many discouragements coming from people who don't really have an idea of how I've visioned my life to be.

Well, I said deep down in my heart,
I will go to this school with the little support I have and I'll graduate without going to anyone's DM to beg for what to feed or buy books.

GOD IS STILL BLESSING PEOPLE

May God expand our minds all.

Let's get better,

Maxwell Guma

𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬

Last year in Abuja, I was resting one Friday, I heard a repeated voice saying "Amara! Amara! Leave Ebuka alone; he is mine and mine forever."

The words kept echoing every few seconds, Ahhh what's happening na?
I asked myself

I decided to peek outside through the burglary-proof door and was surprised to see a crowd gathering.

Upon opening the door to check how far....I discovered it was a film shoot. Lol..

I was so happy seeing them for my first time filming. As I want to return to my room, I overheard someone jokingly telling the producer, "I know how to act too! I want to join your crew!" The producer responded, "Okay, follow us on all social media platforms @benteTV and subscribe to our YouTube channel."

"Ahhh"! This is an Opportunity for me to relate to this people... I told myself.

I copied the name and searched for them on YouTube. To my surprise, their channel appeared, and I watched a film featuring the producer and several crew members in action. Wow...its getting interesting. I was so impressed and continued checking the next videos on their channel.
I subscribed to their channel, followed them on Facebook and started with a "Hi" I introduced myself.

From the very first chat and how I got to hear about them and why I'm chatting them.
Interestingly, they replied and we fixed a meeting.

It was on a Saturday afternoon after two weeks, I went to where they stay. When I reach their apartment at Federal Housing Estate, Zuba, Abuja, the producer greeted me with surprise: "Max! So this is just you?" He proceeded to share how he was impressed by my initiative in reaching out to them. "Max is smart" he added.
We proccedded with my main reason of meeting them.
Gladly, it ended as a done deal, I became their graphic designer, designing YouTube thumbnails and movie flyers for them
And off cause, I was getting percentages 🤸

This moment thought me something deep. Throughout my life, I have often faced underestimation due to my appearance. Many people have looked at me with skepticism, assuming I am incapable. I recall when I landed my first job in Abuja; the person who referred me was somehow talked to in the way it wasn't supposed by the employer for bringing "someone like me." It was disheartening and felt like an insult, but I needed the job, so I had no excuse than to work. I worked there for 1 year before leaving.

Such experiences have been recurrent in my life. However, I've grown to keep to my identity and recognize that God is more interested in what I can offer than in what I lack. I've come to understand that I am a pathsetter—I tackle challenges head-on without fear. The body-shaming remarks and insults no longer affect me because I know there is so much more within me waiting to be explored.

Let's keep building...

Let's get better...

So,Yesterday while working on an assignment for some students in my Faculty, I came across a beautiful Yoruba name: "Monijesu." Wow! , and the name lingered in my mind throughout the day of today, what's this?
I asked myself.

Curiosity got the better of me, so I approached my Yoruba neighbor to ask about its meaning. She smiled and said, "Ahh, it's a sweet name! And it's a powerful name as well."

"Monijesu means 'I have God,'" she explained.

I was struck by the significance of that name. "Wow, that's a powerful name!" I replied, feeling the weight of its meaning.

I think I need a Yoruba name now ...🥹😆

What excited me even more was learning about the person who bears this name.
SHE IS JUST HER NAME OMG!
it’s as if the name is working wonders in her life.

This experience made me think Deep on how much a name can influence a person's identity and destiny.

Having a good name is good o ! It can speak volumes about who you are and what you stand for.

Let's get better.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧!

I’m happy to announce my 30-day content writing challenge, powered by Proficient Writers Academy!

This journey is not just about putting words on a page; it's about sharing my storytelling skills and deepening my understanding of writing.

Over the next month, I’ll share my thoughts, experiences, and reflections on life. I have so many stories and topics that inspire me, and I hope they will inspire you too.

Writing has always been a passion of mine, but I didn’t grow up in an environment where writing was encouraged. Thankfully, the internet has connected me with creative individuals who share my interests.

Last year, I completed my Content writing school from Proficient Writers Academy, and I feel more confident in my writing abilities than ever before.

When this challenge was presented to me, I initially thought about declining it because I’m preparing for exams. But I realized that’s not a valid excuse.

Writing has become effortless for me; ideas flow constantly, and inspiration surrounds me.

I’ve decided to dedicate just 30 minutes each day to write and publish my work.

I invite you to join me on this journey, please .
Your comments, likes , and shares will encourage me more.

Let's get better ✍️🥂
