One of my favourite childhood memories was found in selling to people ๐
I have been selling since I was 7.
I hawked tomatoes and peppers along the streets of Benin, and there's one thing I usually do to get my way.
It is leveraging Urgency and Scarcity.
Selling door-to-door can be fun but it is not an easy task.
And of one the things I hate as a young marketer is customers telling me โNo" or โPostponing what they are supposed to do today to tomorrow"
I don't like those two words.
"Omo Yoruba, we still get Stew for house, till tomorrow.โ
I was wondering why the stew hasn't finished.
Like why are they eating it small small ๐?
Those words usually get to me on bad days when I have to trek and trek, shout and shout for customers to know I'm around, but no sales.
So whenever I encounter such objections again. It is either they buy or they buy more because I will handle those objections with confidence and constant pressure.
And this has helped me make more sales as a hawker.
Customer: Omo Yoruba, I still get Stew for the house; I no go buy today, come tomorrow.
Me: Iye(mama) I no go come tomorrow because this one na the last market wey we get for house and I never know when my mummy(granny) will go market because tomatoes don cost oo.
Customer: My pikin, Oya, packs N300 tomatoes and peppers for me. Osato, Collect those tomatoes from Omo Yoruba. Make you go watch and steam am, then put them in the fridge.
Me: Thank you, ma'am.
I have successfully closed many such deals.
Then I follow the mottoโ No gree for anybody" ๐๐คฃ
Hope you learn something new ๐
