I wanted to wing it today, but then I remembered a lesson I wished I had learnt 10 years ago. I know you wish so too...
There are a lot of things we all agree to be wrong and are designed to lead us in continuous circles that won't get anything done. Unfortunately, we are obsessed with these things and one of them is the obsession to complicate matters... And here's how it works, most of the time.
It begins with a core desire to not just be the best, but to make others look like fools who are too full, lazy and ignorant in your eyes that you think the only place for them is beneath you. So even subconsciously in your words and actions, there are indicators that you consider no one close to you on the scale of intelligence, excellence etc. Let's see where this takes us...
Due to this deeply seated desire, you don't consider anyone else qualified enough to even be your competition not to mention contemporary. So you begin to overcomplicate things like your processes and execution so that no one would be able to model you but guess what you're also doing in the process?
You're making the journey harder for yourself. Instead of building simple systems and structures to optimise your output, you're more focused on blurring the lines behind you so that you keep up with the mystical appearances.
Well...I don't have any counsel for you if this is you... you can choose to always be looking over your shoulders or be part of a tribe heading towards the same bullseye, with whom you can go to war with against the common competition... It's all your choice 🤝🏽
If this is not you, I'll suggest you just focus on being the guy in the second frame 🫡
