So, last time I went back home,
My mum saw me and was like, "This boy, you don big o!" Look at the small Samuel of yesterday that was my handbag.
My sister even started comparing her height with mine and saying that I'm now even taller, me that is complaining of how I'm the shortest person amongst my friends in school.
And even speaking of which, you can all relate to the fact of how we all thought the moon follows us anywhere we go when we were just kids.
Or the tale that, you should not pick up a fallen biscuit or sweet from the ground that the devil has taken a bite of it.
Funny enough, you might even prefer sweet then instead of a 1 dollar bill, who wan give you sef? 🥱
But what changed? That we no longer believe all those tales and stories after finding a logical reason of how it is impossible for the devil to eat your fallen biscuit or sweet, like how?
Growth!
That's what happened.
We grew, mentally, physically, spiritually, and maybe financially too, and whether you want it or not, you must grow in a way or two.
But there's another kind of growth that has to be intentional unlike the natural growth and development of some certain things.
For example, the reason you go to school or take up a skill is to learn and earn, the reason you eat is to grow and be nutritious, what again, you add it.
This growth is called personal development, you're conscious about it, you taste after it, and it implies to different areas of our lives from our relationship, health, skill, finance, etc.
This is you picking a particular aspect of your life and saying, you must grow, let's say you want to learn a new skill or maybe learn a new language, or learn how to cook a new dish, the efforts you intentionally take towards that aspect to develop it, is what is called personal development.
So no be big grammar, you go to school, you learn and read to graduate, it's still a part of personal development, you read your bible, you pray, you commune with God, etc., all this things you consciously do to improve a particular aspect about your life, no neglect am.
If you have to pay for knowledge to develop yourself, then do so too, it is worth it, in every area of your life from skills, relationship, physical health, etc., there's always something new to learn and improve on.
You can choose to pick out one thing you wish to develop on , make conscious effort everyday to see that something new is being added, I kid you not it works because I'm in this process too.
So I'm safe to tell you, how far you'll go in life is determined by how far you're willing to invest in your own development, do you agree?

Okay, that aside, growth and personal development is an important factor and one to be taken seriously.
