3 Things I have Learned Since Coming Online.




Learning never ends, even after school. The day a man stops learning is the day he starts dying - you agree?


That is why every season in life is full of lessons, but only if you are attentive in the school of life.

Since I have come online, I have learned a few valuable lessons and I believe everyone should learn it too.

Below are the THREE LESSONS I will be talking about:

1. CONSISTENCY: In the online space, I learned some valuable things about being consistent.

While some people are missing it already when it comes to this particular subject.


Let me tell you this,

“Consistency” is not only about showing up round the clock.

I will explain:
if you say you want to read a book on “Personal Development,” and the days you chose are Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Sticking to it is “Consistency.”


It is not until you read from Sunday till Saturday - as long as you are faithful to the days chosen, that is consistency.


Another thing is, it must be channeled in the right direction.
Because a man can be consistently doing something in the wrong direction. You get it?


2. QUALITY RELATIONSHIP: I added “quality” on purpose because it is so important!

But you connect with anyone online, think thrice.


💡Why do you want to connect with the person?

💡Are you connecting for connecting sake?

💡Or because people say they are valuable?

Let me say this, just because someone is valuable does not mean you should eat at their table. It is not everyone that is for you! Be sensitive!

To every connection, add intentionality.

Do not just connect to increase your status viewers or to take space on your phone.

Analyze WHY you need to CONNECT and what you AIM to ACHIEVE with the connection.


This is the most important thing, do not be on the receiving side only - it is good when both sides are reciprocating. You get me?


Being intentional about everyone you connect with is crucial - whether in the online space or offline (keep it in mind).


3. KNOW WHEN TO RECHARGE: People are only around you because of the LIGHT you carry - even you. Or you do not agree with me? Well, you do not need to agree with me until you answer the questions below;


✅ What business do you have with a well without water?

✅ What business do a Flying Termite have with darkness?

✅ What business do you have with a socket or an extension that has spoiled?

Now, you can decide.


In summary, people are only around you because of the light you carry (what they are benefiting from you). And once the light goes off, they will disappear.

Let me cite an example:

If you keep drawing water from a drum without refilling it, will it not run out of water one day? It will, right? And if the drum is not refilled, it will stop giving out water (Value).


My advice?

Know when to recharge after giving out to people so you will not run dry!

Lastly, if you keep giving without receiving, it is only a matter of time before you become IRRELEVANT.
(You can read that again).

Simply put, one of the ways to keep being RELEVANT is to KNOW when to POUR into YOURSELF too!

A Time I Helped Someone.



Today's challenge brings about a lot of memories where I had been of help to people.

But I would love to talk about a moment that demanded more from me.


When I left the NYSC Camp, I stayed in a Redeem Family House for some weeks.

That was where I met a lady. She was a Student Teacher then.

Sincerely, I do not know how we got close the first day we met.

According to her, she has been staying indoors and does not really flow well with other Corpers in the lodge before I arrived. I was amazed at the fast connection too.


Within a few days, people had already tagged us as close friends. When they do not see me, they would ask her, and when they do not see her, they would ask me - yes, we were that close!


A few days later, she started showing malaria symptoms. At first, we thought buying medicine for her at the chemist shop would solve the problem within a few days.

She took the drug and we hope she gets better. After two to three days, it seems we were only pouring salt on a fresh wound.


We contacted our Pastor and we took her to the hospital.
I purposely decided to follow her to the hospital, because I believe a friend in need is a friend indeed!

When we got to the hospital, she was treated as an emergency patient.

That period, I felt for her because she was experiencing a great discomfort in her body system.

After the emergency treatment, the Nurses moved her to the ward where she would stay.

And that was where the real work began!


I knew it would not be easy on my side, but do I have a choice? Maybe!


Due to the drips she must take and the injections… I was always on the move to get the prescription at any given office.


And it started the night we got there. I barely slept and within 24 hours, almost all the Nurses and Doctors knew me because I was always on the run to get one thing or the other.

It got to a point where some of them started telling me “well done.”


The next day, a Corper was brought to the ward she was in!

Apparently, her friends brought her to the hospital, and after they gave her the first treatment… After some minutes, her friends left without looking back.


Do you know what that meant for me? More work!

I started running errands for her too. I barely have time to rest - can you imagine the stress too?

Even mosquitoes showed me pepper. But one thing was strange, I never complained or regretted my action!


After two days of working like a clock and as the Saviour, both of them were already improving.


I had the opportunity to rest that afternoon. I sat on a plastic chair and the rest was a story!


According to my friend, a Doctor came to attend to her. He also needed me to get a prescription for my friend. They woke me, I did not shake. They had to leave me.

Imagine! If there is another word I can use for how tired I was, I would use it! See, I was beautifully exhausted!


It was funny and was not funny, because my body really needed that sleep I neglected for two nights while running around the hospital and outside it.


Fortunately, some of the Corper's people came to visit after two days of being alone… they appreciated me.. And the next day, my friend was discharged…

Between, I was traveling the day they discharged her, so she was lucky.


And at that moment, I was happy I sacrificed my time and energy for her.

What is the essence of the friendship if I couldn't be by her side that time?


Though, it cost me my sleep, time and energy, but I am glad I was there for her!


See, it is good to help people even with the smallest thing if you are CONVINCED YOU should!

Meaning? It is good to help others, but be SENSITIVE!

A Lesson Life Taught Me That Applies to Business.



Life itself is a great and lifetime teacher. You only learn if you are attentive in the school of life.

Life has taught me many lessons, both in joy and pain.

One of them is,

“Do not make hasty decisions base on your feelings or because of people.”

Wait, I will explain.


As a lady whose heart had been captured with sweet words, I said YES to him without thinking twice.

Of course, I was in love and other things do not matter - let me laugh a little - LOL.


We kept on with our love life until I began to face some issues in the relationship. The major one is lack of COMMUNICATION.


I was always the one who wanted to have meaningful conversations with him and ask questions.

And what about the days he left my messages unread! His excuses? Sorry, I was busy!


As an understanding lover, my response never exceed “I understand.”

But deep inside my heart, I was confused, why? Simply because that was not how we started.


Truthfully, the relationship was not laid on any solid foundation - it was laid majorly on what we both FELT for ourselves, which is NOT enough.

Entering a relationship because of “love” is NOT enough because love fades! It is just a bitter truth.

I mean, if love was enough, should there still be divorce today?


Personally, I said “yes” to him because I was in 100 level. I had heard advice like, “As long as you are in the university, you can get into a romantic relationship.”

I believed it without knowing the right action to take before saying YES or HOW to make the relationship thrive. I can say the same goes for him too… we were both NAIVE at love.


As time goes on, the act kept repeating itself and one thing led to another which made us broke up.


Same thing goes for a business - loving a particular business just because you heard you can skyrocket your financial life with it does not mean you should jump into action without doing your research.

Can you handle the consequences - whether positive or negative?


Even if you have a natural passion to help humanity with it, there is still a need to count the cost:

💡How you will run the business or how to make it thrive.

💡The possible challenges you might encounter and how to solve them.

💡What you can do differently… and more.

Or do you think it is the passion that will keep you going? No!

You must have effective strategies to run your business effectively too!


EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION is also a key part.
If you cannot communicate the value of your product or offer to your audience, your belief, challenges you have faced and how you overcame them, it would be hard for you to connect with them and for them to connect with you too - which can kill your business with time just like a relationship where both partners talk once in two weeks.

Quality relationship with people is important as well - you cannot do life alone.


As from today, think well and do your research before you go into any CAREER PATH.

WHAT I DO (Even If I am Still Figuring It Out).



My father's house was not built in a day too - not only Rome.

Or the house you are living currently was built in a day?

That's it!

Which also means the journey of a thousand miles begins with the RIGHT step.

And that is why I am writing this today to document my journey because I am still figuring things out!


Wiping the tears of the heart with my pen had always been the goal.

It is a natural passion I discovered in myself when I was a child. Yes, I noticed I love writing.

As a child, I wrote my first story in my school notebook, titled “God's Time is the Best.”

Though I do not know where I kept the book, the major message of the story is still fresh in my MIND.

Apart from writing to bless or motivate people, penning down my thoughts is one of the ways I relax or free my mind from worries - the words are only for my eyes - sweet, right?


And when it comes to making people feel at peace with words - I love it! I encourage people a lot even when I do not plan to.


Recently, I have been receiving messages like, “I love how you write,” “I want to write like you, “ “Can you teach me how to write?”


With all these compliments and requests, the idea to upgrade came to my mind, because “I love how you write” will not put food on my table, right?

In other words, passion alone is not enough, I can make a 'living' from it.


So, I sat down and thought about the services I can offer with my writing skill and the problem I can solve with it.

I did my research, and I discovered I can be a “Content Marketer or a Copywriter.”


I am an Author of a Relationship book as of today titled “LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH.”

I wrote the ebook because it hurts me to see young people enter into romantic relationships as they like without putting in the RIGHT STEPS.

Everyone can have a happy home and be fulfilled in their career paths too.

No matter the ambition you have, once you choose wrongly or do not know what it takes for a home to last forever, it will be hard for you to achieve your dreams. As you can perceive, I love talking about RELATIONSHIP.

I believe there are more books to Author with the help of God.


In summary, I am a Creative Writer whose Aim is to help Business Owners Thrive with Words and whose Mission is to Live in the World where Word Heals and brings Light - and where there is light, there is Liberty and Clarity of Purpose.


Recently, I discovered another version of me in the VIRTUAL ASSISTANTANCE world, and I am working on it currently because I want people to be more productive by offering my skills to them through ‘Virtual Assistance.’

If you ask me, I found more of myself in the Creative Aspect of Virtual Assistance - Creative V.A.

But I will keep figuring things out as I trust the Lord to keep holding my hands.

I am joyous writing this - I am still figuring things out, and this challenge adds to my success story.

WHY I CAME ONLINE.


My belief?

I believe there is no smoke without fire! In other words, there is ALWAYS a REASON for every ACTION under heaven.


Calm down, I know you want to know why I am here - the online space.

But would you let me have your left hand first?

Or "would you allow me LOCK my FINGERS with YOURS so we can JOURNEY together EFFECTIVELY?"

Please, do not break my heart - say “Yes!”


Okay!


Initially, I did not come to the online space because I want to connect with people or make money.

Are you surprised?

Well, maybe…


Let me take you back to my late teens and early twenties.

I ought to have had a PHONE, but strangely, I did not bother about getting one.

Why, you ask?

The reason is, I was satisfied with the small Tecno Phone I was given.


I used it in my first two years in the university - surprised, right?


Looking back, I realized I was not concerned because I do not know what was going on in the ONLINE WORLD!


I ONLY hoped my Parents would get me a good phone when they wish.


Immediately I got to 300 level, I noticed not having an android phone as a university student was affecting me, I had to speak up and my parents bought it for me - deep down, they knew I tried because I never bothered them.


Having an Android phone for the first time was as if someone promised me a trip to the U.S. the next week.

Can you relate?

I was eager to do everything on it!

The major reason I came to the online world was to be doing my ASSIGNMENTS with the phone and also to join my 'Departmental WhatsApp Group.'


With time, I noticed what some people post on their status updates: jokes, hatred words, valuable words, and some were just posting for posting sake (anything goes).


Then, I made a big decision that I wanted people to laugh or simply have a smile light up on their faces while viewing my status, because I had came across updates like “fuck haters” and those who abuse themselves using their statuses.


I never wanted mine to be that way. I started posting funny things and words.

One day, someone told me that he was always eager to view my status because he knew he would always laugh.

While others did not tell me directly, their reactions said it all.


As time flies by, I found joy in POSITIVE IMPACT using VALUABLE WORDS.


I started posting CONTENT that would help my Audience.

Knowing fully well that my words help people, built a special JOY in me!

I found my REAL MISSION for being online AFTER coming online, and NOT before, unique right?


And till eternity, my greatest reason for being in the online space will be to CREATE VALUES and SOLVE PROBLEMS using WORDS.

I love it! It is my life!


Being online is great, but what are you truly doing with your PRESENCE?
